Flying blind, we all try to see. Have you ever pushed your glasses up your nose when you weren’t wearing them? The feeling of vulnerability, helplessness; that even with this invaluable contraption, things don’t seem quite in focus. Turn the tables, give someone what I need so desperately but what they cannot wait to remove. “You’re blind!” It’s almost a compliment. They take them off. If only it were that easy to see. It’s funny, really. What you find nauseating is my world. But it doesn’t seem like that to me. It’s completely normal. I know I am not giving them my non-sight, just disorientation. Just trying to evoke some kind of response, snap the photo and it’s over.
